Romanian Government Scholarship (MFA)
About this Scholarship
The Romanian Government Scholarship, offered through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), is an annual program designed to grant scholarships to non-EU citizens. It is one of the most popular state-funded grants in Eastern Europe, allowing international students to pursue Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees at accredited state universities in Romania.
To promote the Romanian language and culture, undergraduate and master's programs under this scholarship are exclusively taught in Romanian. For applicants who do not speak the language, the scholarship includes a free one-year preparatory course. PhD candidates may choose to study in English or French, depending on the availability at the chosen university.
